This just in, United States Representative Bob Goodlatte (R-VA-6th District) will be saying a few words at the Official Tax Day Tea Party (as part of www.TaxDayTeaParty.com) on April 15th at 6pm at the base of 9th street, right on the James River.

Favor: Generator Needed

Hey Everyone---- A FAVOR is needed.....Does anyone have a generator that can run about 3000W as a back up for our battery operated system. We need to be ready in case the battery system dies.

News from the City: Parking on the Day-of the Event

News from The City: As we will be in the Downtown area, parking will come at a premium. We are also not be able to park on 9th street near the base of the street. So, we wanted to let everyone know that although we won't be able to park at the DPO Grill lot, we will be able to park at Amazement Square's lot (they close at 5pm). Also, there is parking available in the Parking Ramp (for free after 5) at the corner of Commerce and 9th street.

One other notice from the City: No stakes nor poles for your signs, you must hold them.

Music will be played by LFA. He will be singing and playing his guitar live to (totally family friendly) classic rock to usher in people for the event.

Issues with TaxDayTeaParty.com - Explanation

An international effort to shut down the www.TaxDayTeaParty.com website has been detected by our technical staff. Internet experts commonly call this type of attack a Denial of Service (DOS) attack. Corrective measures are being implemented, and the site should be fully accessible again within 48 hours.

Unfortunately, these DOS attacks are very difficult to trace. In this case, the attacks have come from both domestic and international sources. All we know for certain at this point is that a group of people want to stop this movement. We will not allow this to happen. This citizens’ movement will not be stopped.

We will be issuing an official press release on this issue on Monday, March 30th.

Lynchburg, VA Tax Day Tea Party (As part of the national www.TaxDayTeaParty.com)

The Event

The Official National Tax Day Tea Party in Lynchburg, VA is taking place on April 15th at 6pm at the base of 9th street behind DPO Grill and Amazement Square.

Congressman Virgil Goode will be speaking, as well as Councilmen Scott Garrett and Jeff Helgeson. Local businesspeople will be sharing their stories of how the current tax system is sinking or has sunk their businesses. A singer is being confirmed for the event and media is planning on attending.

Considering that we have decided to give the floor at the rally to local business people who have been affected by the bailouts, stimulus, and increased taxes, and whether it has been a total drop in sales because of the Freddie and Fannie schemes, or the new "rich man" tax that destroys small businesses, we would like to have you tell your story. Please let us know if you, or someone you know, is interested in speaking.

Locally, there is another Tax Day Tea Party group that is trying to hold their event on the steps of Monument Terrace from 3pm-8pm. They have refused to join our event for silly reasons and we have no choice but to try to minimize their event for the health of the National cause. The national website is intent on hosting one event per medium sized city, however it seems as though these individuals are set on holding a totally separate event.

~Purchase a "Declaration of Liberty" flag for just $5, shipped! You can view the flag at www.HelpRescueAmerica.org This a not for profit venture. They are spending a lot of time and money to try to save our freedoms and return to the principles of the constitution.

It should be a great event and will really show people that Tax Day is the day we call for FREEDOM FOR GOVERNMENT with lowered taxes and limited government!
