I just got it up and going and will keep it up to date with more VA Tea Party Events.
Saturday, May 30, 2009
What an event we had this past April 15th. Looking back a month later we can see that the movement drew attention to just some of the many people have had enough. We are sending the petition from the Tea Party to the federal reps from our area, in hopes that they will further see the great concern from such a wide range of people.
The effect of the Tea Parties has slowed some of the reckless spending, but the spending commitments really need to be reversed, or taxes will continue to go up and your savings will be worthless in the face of skyrocketing inflation.
For a variety of reasons, including the fact that Ray and I are studying for the bar exam and moving to different parts of the nation, we will be unable to host a July 4th Tea Party in Lynchburg. We suggest one of two alternatives. We first suggest attending a 4th of July Tea Party in our Nations' Capital, Washington DC. Below is more info with the facebook group and website. We hope that you will all be able to attend. We feel that a enormous National Tea Party is the next step, with July 4th being a great day to call for “Freedom from our own Government”.
The second option is to attend a Tea Party in Roanoke, VA on July 4th. More information can be given by emailing Lee Carter at email@example.com, or visit their website: www.roanoketeaparty.com

The story was on last night at 7pm and 11pm. It left out some details (Congressman Goodlatte), labels Ray as Brendan McIntyre, and cut out our 'pitches' a bit, but gets the idea across.

Hey Everyone---- A FAVOR is needed.....Does anyone have a generator that can run about 3000W as a back up for our battery operated system. We need to be ready in case the battery system dies.
Please email me if you have a generator that you can lend us for the day. Thanks!
Things are progressing REALLY well. Just a few days until Tax Day! Keep spreading the word, the turnout is looking PHENOMENAL! People ALL OVER the city have been saying that they are hearing about the event. Keep it up and we'll wake our government up!

FAVOR REQUEST MET!
Thanks so much to Dana Hale for volunteering to make the headdresses for our Tea Dump-ers!
We really appreciate it and the event will be that much better! To the Cause!
One other notice from the City: No stakes nor poles for your signs, you must hold them.

An international effort to shut down the www.TaxDayTeaParty.com website has been detected by our technical staff. Internet experts commonly call this type of attack a Denial of Service (DOS) attack. Corrective measures are being implemented, and the site should be fully accessible again within 48 hours.

Sean Hannity will be broadcasting the April 15 Tea Party show at 9 p.m. ET from the Atlanta Tax Day Tea Party Protest at the Georgia State Capitol!
We are going to part of a HUGE nationwide event. This is going to be huge!

This adds to confirmed speakers Congressman Virgil Goode, Lynchburg City Councilmen Jeff Helgeson and Scott Garrett, and local businesspeople negatively affected by the growing tax-burden in the US.
Thursday, March 26, 2009
The Official National Tax Day Tea Party in Lynchburg, VA is taking place on April 15th at 6pm at the base of 9th street behind DPO Grill and Amazement Square.
Congressman Virgil Goode will be speaking, as well as Councilmen Scott Garrett and Jeff Helgeson. Local businesspeople will be sharing their stories of how the current tax system is sinking or has sunk their businesses. A singer is being confirmed for the event and media is planning on attending.
Considering that we have decided to give the floor at the rally to local business people who have been affected by the bailouts, stimulus, and increased taxes, and whether it has been a total drop in sales because of the Freddie and Fannie schemes, or the new "rich man" tax that destroys small businesses, we would like to have you tell your story. Please let us know if you, or someone you know, is interested in speaking.
Here's what you can do now!!!
~Join Facebook and send invites to friends: http://www.facebook.com/events.php?ref=sb#/event.php?eid=61966312115
~Make signs to pass out on the day of the event
~Spread the word however you can: this is just getting off the ground and hopefully we’ll have the speakers confirmed early next week to help with promo.
~Beware of many copycat groups on the web that we need to keep aware of (www.teapartyday.com). Locally, there is another Tax Day Tea Party group that is trying to hold their event on the steps of Monument Terrace from 3pm-8pm. They have refused to join our event for silly reasons and we have no choice but to try to minimize their event for the health of the National cause. The national website is intent on hosting one event per medium sized city, however it seems as though these individuals are set on holding a totally separate event.
~Purchase a "Declaration of Liberty" flag for just $5, shipped! You can view the flag at www.HelpRescueAmerica.org This a not for profit venture. They are spending a lot of time and money to try to save our freedoms and return to the principles of the constitution.
It should be a great event and will really show people that Tax Day is the day we call for FREEDOM FOR GOVERNMENT with lowered taxes and limited government!
